چکیده
DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) is a highly promising solution to provide high bandwidth networks. In order to make more efficient use of large bandwidth, two types of DWDM transmission protocols have been designed: reservation-based protocols and pre-allocation protocols. A reservation-based protocol uses at least one control channel to reserve access to the remaining data channels. A pre-allocation protocol uses all channels for data transmission. The reservation-based protocol is considered in this paper due to its more dynamic features, although the switching tuning latency is an inevitable physical limitation factor during data transmission between the different wavelengths (channels). Currently, switching schemes in the range of microseconds

Collision-less Scheduling Algorithms with Arbitrary Transceiver Tuning Latencies in Broadcast DWDM Networks
To achieve high bandwidth in the high-speed communication network is available for fiber-optical networks. Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) increases the usage of bandwidth by partitioning the bandwidth into many, more manageable high-speed channels. Many scheduling algorithms are proposed to bring out channel reusing in a limited bandwidth to increase system performance. Unfortunately, f...
متن کاملPacket Scheduling in WDM Ring Networks with Non-uniform Traffic Demands and Arbitrary Transceiver Tuning Latencies
This paper considers the scheduling problem of packet transmissions in a TDM/WDM unidirectional optical ring network. Our objective is to design a scheduling scheme for packet transmission with minimum scheduling length satisfying a set of traffic requirements. We focus on a fairly general case in that non-uniform traffic demands and arbitrary transmitter tuning latencies are allowed. Since the...
متن کاملOn the Design of Optimal TDM Schedules for Broadcast WDM Networks with Arbitrary Transceiver Tuning Latencies
We consider the problem of scheduling packet transmissions in a broadcast, single-hop WDM network. Tunability is provided only at one end, namely, at the transmitters. Our objective is to design schedules of minimum length to satisfy a set of traac requirements given in the form of a demand matrix. We address a fairly general version of the problem as we allow arbitrary traac demands and arbitr...
متن کاملMulticast QoS traffic scheduling with arbitrary tuning latencies in single-hop WDM networks
To accommodate the demands of QoS and multicast applications, a multicast QoS traffic scheduling algorithm with tuning latency consideration in WDM star-coupled network is provided in this paper. We define the slot scanning problem in the connection setup process as the Maximum Assignable Slots (MAS) problem. We prove that the optimal solution of MAS problem can be obtained in polynomial time. ...
متن کاملTWDM Multichannel Lightwave Hypercube Networks
The hypercube is a widely used interconnection topology as it presents a lot of attractive properties. Recently, the hypercube has been proposed as a virtual topology for TWDM multihop lightwave networks based on optical passive star couplers. However, in most of previous works, each station in the network has only one fixed or tunable transmitter and one fixed or tunable receiver. The tunable ...
